Expatriate's wife commits suicide by pouring kerosene on Chittagong

Sharmin Aktar, 26, wife of an Oman resident, committed suicide by pouring kerosene over a family dispute in Boalkhali, Chittagong. 

The housewife died while undergoing treatment at the Burn and Plastic Surgery Unit at Chittagong Medical College Hospital at around 3:30 pm on Friday. The incident took place on Thursday night at around 3:30 pm at the house of the father-in-law of the house of the bride-to-be at Ghatial Para of ward no. At this time, her husband said to save her. Saiful also was admitted to the hospital with flames. Locals said that four years ago, Sherman, daughter of Abul Kasem of Chandgaon Mohra area, was married to Saiful Islam, son of Aminul Islam, of Ghatial neighborhood of ward no. After marriage, Saiful is looking for a living in Oman. During his stay there, Saiful can find out that his wife Sharmin talks to someone else on mobile. In this regard, there are many disputes between the husband and wife, and even the striking incident takes place. At one point Shermin left the father's house. After meeting with both families recently, Sharmin returned to her mother-in-law's house a few months ago. Saiful came home from Oman 5-6 months ago. They have a 4-year-old daughter named Isfa in their family. Alauddin Talukder, ASI of several hospital police outposts, said a burnt couple was admitted to the hospital's burn unit at around 12pm on Thursday. I found out that the husband was burnt to save his wife after a fire broke out with her husband by throwing kerosene on her.
